The Video Series is Here: Five Tutorials on PLS-SEM in R

Five new tutorial videos walk through a complete PLS-SEM analysis in R with SEMinR, each paired with a chapter of the 2nd edition of PLS-SEM Using R: A Workbook — which will be open access and free to download.

Walking through a reflective measurement model in R with SEMinR

The video series is here! 🎉

I’ve recorded five tutorial videos walking through PLS-SEM analysis in R with SEMinR, each one paired with a chapter of the 2nd edition of Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) Using R: A Workbook (Hair, Hult, Ringle, Sarstedt, Danks & Adler, Springer 2026). And thanks to the generous support of Marko Sarstedt and Christian Ringle, the new edition will be open access — completely free to download.

All five videos are up on YouTube now:

  1. Reflective Measurement (Ch 4, ~34 min)
  2. Formative Measurement (Ch 5, ~23 min)
  3. Structural Model incl. PLSpredict & CVPAT (Ch 6, ~33 min)
  4. Mediation (Ch 8, ~11 min)
  5. Moderation incl. MGA (Ch 7, ~22 min)

Each video uses the corporate reputation dataset bundled with SEMinR, so you can follow along in R as you watch. The code companions are at https://nicholasdanks.com/learn.

Whether you’re a student running your first PLS model, a researcher switching from SmartPLS to R, or an instructor looking for ready-made teaching materials — I hope these help. More videos on advanced topics (higher-order constructs, etc.) are planned.

If there’s something you wish I’d covered or explained differently, let me know in the comments on YouTube — I’ll work it into future videos.
